The RMAG through the Popular Geology Committee is sponsoring an art AND an essay contest for Earth Science Week.

WIN $100 savings bonds for either a poster or an essay for the 2003 Earth Science Week theme: "EYES ON PLANET EARTH, Monitoring and Investigating our Changing World."

Earth Science Week is October 12-18th, 2003, and to observe this week, the RMAG is awarding eight $100 savings bonds. One bond for each, poster winner and essay winner, for the combined grade levels: grades 1 and 2, grades 3 and 4, grades 5 and 6, and grades 7 and 8. Posters can show scientists investigating Earth or any interpretation of how Earth systems can be studied. The essays should explain why scientists should study Earth and its changes. Essays can be up to two typewritten or handwritten pages.

ENTRIES must be RECEIVED by 4: 00 p. m., FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, at: RMAG Office: 820 – 16th Street, Suite 505, Denver, CO 80202 or Dinosaur Ridge Visitor Center, 16831 West Alameda Pkwy. Morrison, CO 80465 Winners will be announced during Earth Science Week and featured in future Outcrop editions.
